Steam from oven scaled cabinet above oven

When I cooked my Thanksgiving turkey, I used convect bake 325, so much steam came out of the oven while the turkey was cooking that it scaleded the cabinet (totally removed the finish) on the cabinet door above the oven. All the steam came out of a small vent on the right top side of the oven. I have cooked turkeys before (I have had this oven for 2 years 2 months) and this has never happened before. Luckily, I am putting new cabinets in as we speak but I am terrified of using the oven again. Help! I have asked the kitchen salesman and the contractors and no one has ever seen this happen b
